New Guild Things

So I’m not sure how this will look when posted because I’m using my new iPad. As for news my friend’s new guild is moving right along. Two of them have managed to level it up to level 7 which isn’t bad for how new it is. Unfortunately the new raid team idea is still up in the air but we have half the team hanging around waiting. I’ve been pugging into other teams as some of my other friends need my help. So far both teams have asked me to stick around but in all reality that would be six days of raiding! I just don’t think I could handle it, I’m already getting burnt out with raid healing. Started working on my Druid again lately though. Really getting into Boomkin but I absolutely hate the DPS ques for everything. I guess I need to make some more healer friends so I tag along their ques like everyone else does to me. On a side note – has anyone else had problems with their transmog gear glitching? My Druid’s robe seems to really want to be purple but I want it to be green.

BrewMASTA!

So it’s been a little while since I posted on here. It has been a very eventful couple of weeks and I simply did not have the time or motivation. It’s hard when you run out of interesting things to actually write about. Fortunately I found something!

After withdrawing from my previous guild and also the new guild I had joined I am falling back on my friend’s guild. They have decided to try running their own guild and raid team so I figured I would help. I have lost quite a bit of motivation to raid with all of the problems that were arising. Hopefully after I get a bit of a break to catch up on my personal affairs everything will go back to normal. I am excited to get to raid on a different class though! I spent so much of my time in Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria on my Priest so it’s about time to shake things up.

My new flavor to raid is a Monk! I know, I know, everyone is trying to do the Monk thing these days. I have gotten some first hand tips from other Monk Healers (Mistweaver) and Monk Tanks (Brewmaster) so I am confident in my ability to do both. Although since I just recently switched from Windwalker to Brewmaster there are still some weird gear holes. I am really loving Brewmaster though, I am not really much of a Tank but it is so much fun. If anyone has any tips on either feel free to share!

Also – I’m going to share a bit of information that I have kept incognito since I started this blog..my Real ID! Go check out the “First Time? Read Me!” at the bottom of this blog. 🙂

Down to Business

It has not been an amazing week in the world of.. me. Ever since we had to replace a few members in the raid team things have been working backwards. It seems that the things that we had been able to get through easily are giving us a fair amount of problems. In my last post I mentioned that we were finally up to Durumu and we were all excited to look him in the.. uh.. eye! Unfortunately we could not get him down that night and have not made it back to him yet. The new members have had a bit of a hard time trying to catch up with the rest of us. One of the members has been especially stubborn and has me on the edge of my seat half the time. For those of you that have done or at least watched a video of the Durumu fight you may notice the ability “Force of Will”, which puts this purple color under your feet and will throw you off the platform. Obviously once you are gone there is nothing to save. It gives you plenty of time to get out of it before you get flying lessons, yet that certain person in my team cannot seem to get out of it. I’m sorry, I try not to be an elitist asshole because I make my fair share of mistakes, but come on! We have tried to talk to them and explain it to them but with no progress. I really do not know what else to do because our raid leader is not doing anything about it. The person has made countless mistakes over and over and I am just tired of nothing being done about it. I guess I can’t make him do anything but it really does get under my skin.

On that note, for those of you that actually read this and perhaps even raid, I am looking into joining a different team. If you know of any good raiding servers or guilds that need spots filled feel free to leave a comment! Progression Again!

My raid team will finally be on a progression boss again tomorrow. After some hard work and a bit of lost patience we downed Ji-Kun and are going to make our first attempt at Durumu. Luckily most of us have watched some videos on the fight and I had a chance to do the mechanics while pugging into a raid a while ago. I am not looking forward to trying to explain this fight though. The videos on Fatboss (as much as I like them) do not seem to help me until I actually do the fight. So here is hoping that my guildies will catch on faster than I did the first time. We’ve started to extend the lock out every other week to try to get a little further. Though we miss out on doing the first bosses yet again the gear we could possible get is less and less useful. I am not looking forward to the end couple bosses though.. nervous is an understatement.

For anyone that doesn’t know already, many things are 50% off! I decided to buy a race change for my Priest since everyone is bringing Blood Elves down. I figured Goblin would be a good choice for the Haste. I think I have plenty of Pandarens at this point. I’m much more comfortable with $12.50 rather than $25 honestly. I know to some it still sounds ridiculous to pay for a damn race change. I wish that they would keep the price lower, then maybe I would feel better about paying it.

Get Your Raid Face On

Once again I come to you with a raiding problem. As usual, there is someone just not showing the potential to raid. Though my guild is a casual raiding guild and we try our best to work with everyone there are some things we just cannot do. When someone comes to us and says “I want to raid” we will try to fit them in somewhere. Now if you raid, casually or hard core, you know that it still takes some work to get yourself “Raid Ready”. If you aren’t willing to put in the work in LFR’s or grinding the Valor Points to get some gear then you might as well forget about raiding. We had a member that seemed very excited to join our second raid team (which just started recently). They asked about what character they could bring and what roles were needed and we thought they were genuine. Thought obviously being the key word here, because we were very wrong. They ended up ignoring all of the advice we had given them and suggestions we made about how to further learn and gear their class. I personally hate it when people ask for help and then completely ignore everything you told them. Instead they wanted to joke around and not show up for raids. We have a high level of tolerance for missing raids if there are issue outside of the game. People have jobs and a life outside, we completely understand that. BUT if you can’t take a moment to let someone know then you are showing that you do not care. Now if there was some emergency we cannot be upset but there are fine lines. For obvious reasons I am not going to go into much detail for this one. I just wanted to share my level of frustration with the interwebs.

Another update for all the people that probably don’t care anyway ;D the Pandaren Mage is now up to level 85 and starting Mists of Pandaria content.Image

Darn Youngins

Just let me say first.. my personal experience with young teens on World of Warcraft has not been a great one. So I am going to go ahead and touch on the classic subject of – should children even be on WoW? Now to me this is children between the ages of 11 to 17. I have met some very young people on the game especially on a Role Play server. Personally I have no interest in even speaking to anyone under the age of at least sixteen. There are always obvious questions such as their level of maturity and commitment. Below I have give a few examples of what I have personally experienced, both good and bad.

The Mature Young Player: I was in a guild not too long ago with a rather nice Guild Master. He listened when you needed him and tried to be around for the guild members. Although he was not very good at telling people when they needed some help. It took some time for me to discover that this particular GM was only 16. After learning this about him after I had gotten to know him a bit better I was rather impressed. For only 16 he was a relatively good GM and handled things within the guild pretty well. As with everyone there were things that I thought he could have done better.

The Immature Young Player: I have had so many bad experiences with young, immature players. The one that sticks out in my mind at the moment is an issue that was not really an issue with a young officer of an old guild. I had joined because of a friend in the guild and I was pretty friendly with everyone. I went out of my way to participate in their guild events, Role Play and otherwise. Though this one officer I did not have much communication with on any level. Well she made is especially apparent that she did not like me (for what reason I still don’t know). She would not talk to me and went out of her way to say very rude things about me to everyone in the guild while I was sitting there. So one day I had finally had enough and told her off in language that I will not repeat here and left the guild. I had so many people whisper me like “wtf?!” but I was in no mood to put up with her petty shit anymore.

So whether or not young teens should be aloud to play is up for debate. I honestly do not feel anyone under at least 15 should even consider logging on. Of course, this is just my opinion, This does not go without saying that there are plenty of immature older players as well. Some people even at the age of 50 should not be aloud to play this game.

UPDATE! The new Pandaren Mage is now level 82 and into Cataclysm content. =3Image

Annoying Ex-Tank

So I’m typing this on my phone because it’s very late where I am and I just don’t feel like getting up. Not sure how this will look on the blog so I may have to make some corrections later on. Onto the point!
I’m sure we’ve all had that person in a raid team or just in a guild that annoyed the crap of us. Well unfortunately in this case it was one of our raid tanks. Though my personal feelings about them doesn’t have much to do with my problem. They believed that people within the team did not listen to them or value their opinion. Honestly it was rare that she actually voiced a viable option and wasn’t just complaining. So rather than talking to the raid leader about it and trying to resolve it somehow they decided there was a “better” solution. I got online a few hours later to find out that they server transfered instead. If I could facepalm any harder right now..

Guild Bank Going Broke

I have been in many guilds over the past three years of playing this silly game. Each has had their fair share of problems whether it be drama or lack of active members. Fortunately the guild I am in now does not seem to have a huge issue with drama after we booted one of the more annoying members. It came after a long deliberation that lasted months (which in my opinion was too long). Now our biggest problem is not having enough active members contributing to the guild. We are bleeding the guild bank dry with most members getting repairs (100+ gold per character for 200+ members and member alts) and not nearly enough guild challenges getting done.

Our solution was simple. Start offering rewards to people who go out of their way to help the guild. If they could take some time to participate in the guild challenges and get the guild some money flowing back in we would reward them. Sadly even the didn’t work and some members even bothered to complain about the prizes we offered. That definitely struck a bad nerve with quite a few of us. Those prizes were not funded by guild bank money, they came out of the pockets of the officers to try to help our guild.

Unfortunately the only option we can think of now is to cut guild repairs, or remove them completely. Honestly none of us want it to come to that but what else can we do. I have been trying to think of another way to get people to put some effort into the guild. If anyone around bothers to read this and has some ideas feel free to share.

Frustration and Laziness

Alright.. my cell phone is really starting to frustrate me. I have a Galaxy S3 and up until today I have loved this phone. Well, technically I have been annoyed with it for the past week. For some odd reason it is not sending my picture messages correctly or at all. I’m ready to throw the whole thing out the window. I suppose it really isn’t a big deal. I, unlike many, did not pay a crazy amount for my phone. I got mine on Black Friday for a dollar! I keep it in good shape but I suppose it could use a reset or something. I’m not much of a phone person..

Anyway! I know no one came here to see me complain about my cell phone. Two days after patch day and I still haven’t bothered to go out and do the new quest line. I have not really had any motivation to do so. Other life issues outside of the game have me pretty high strung and stretched for time. I hear that they are pretty interesting and an easy way to get charms or runes..or something. I wonder if my guildies know what their talking about half the time. I suppose I can try to get some questing in before my raid tonight. I shall do this and come back with some sort of result.. eventually.

The Server Blues

Don’t get me wrong, I love my guild and most of my guildies. Though there are days more often than not that I wish I could move to a new realm. I have been playing on the same realm for almost four years and when you’ve been around that long you gain some friends and some enemies. I feel like I could use a new start.. but the idea of leveling news characters and having no gold just sounds terrible. I barely have the money to continue playing none the less transfer characters to a new server. I have done research into different servers and asked people their opinions but of course no one can tell me where to go. The biggest bummer of the whole thing is not knowing someone on another server that plays as much as I do. Most of the people on my Real I.D. are from my server or are other friends on different servers who don’t enjoy quite the same aspects of the game as I do. Also I have been interested in playing Alliance for a change of pace. Yes, I know, boooo! The same races get a bit bored when you’ve played them for so long. I don’t necessarily enjoy the people that I have met in-game that play Alliance but the races are kind of neat. I would love to be a Draenei goat thing, or a night elf. I have no interest in the Worgen though, their animations seem strange to me.

On a side note; I found a transmog for my Pandaren Mage who is now into Northrend content.
